I would like to inform you about an important change in the packaging law, which is particularly important for the to-go business. From 01.01.2023, it is mandatory for all catering businesses that have more than 80 square meters of retail space to offer reusable packaging for all plastic packaging. Plastic packaging is all packaging that consists even in small part of plastic. Plastic packaging also includes, for example, our paper trays, since they have a coating of plastic.

Our pizza boxes and paper bags , on the other hand, are made entirely of virgin fiber paper and have no plastic content, so there is no need to offer reusable alternatives for pizza boxes for the time being (status of information: 01.01.2023).

This applies to both the offer of beverages and the offer of food. Note: Reusable packaging must be offered and used if requested by customers, but conventional disposable packaging can still be used.

Since we as Buongiusti offer only disposable packaging at the moment, I would like to point out that it is your responsibility to organize suitable reusable packaging for your food and drinks. Either you buy your own reusable packaging or you register in a deposit system. Deposit systems organize both the provision of the packaging and the management of the deposit that your customers pay for the packaging.
